Happy Endings. . .

We wanted to send you an update on Ginger ('Ginger Olivia Parkerson').

HEALTH INFO: Ginger is all up to date on her shots and is on the monthly Sentinal & Advantage preventative routine. She has been re-tested for heartworms (etc.) and has been given a clean bill of health. Ginger receives her care at Animal Medical Clinic of Goose Creek (Dr. Dan Bieck); all the staff love her, of course! We did choose to enroll in the monthly pet health insurance, as Mandy suggested.

My husband and I LOVE Ginger ~ she is such a warm, wonderful addition to our family!! She is just as her St. Frances & PetFinder ad suggested  "the cutest, most adorable Chihuahua on this Earth" and she is definitely "a couch potato" much of the time! We constantly get a kick out of the fact that she lives up to her ad so well.

Of course, even though Ginger enjoys being a couch potato, she gets plenty of exercise playing chase & fetch with her toys around the house and in our large, fenced-in yard. We are working on establishing a regular evening walk around our quiet family neighborhood that will give Ginger (and her owners!) an additional fun workout. I am not working outside of the home so we have a lot of quality time together.

Ginger is soooo SMART!! When we are ready for bed, Ginger waits until she hears our security alarm announce that it is activated. As soon as that happens, she is off and running to bed. She sleeps with us !! and we love the way she sleeps like a person, with her head on a flat pillow. As far as barking or growling, we RARELY hear anything like that from Ginger. Wow!

At first, we thought her "barker" might have been broken because it took her a MONTH to work up a real bark through the glass door at a neighbor's cat. She still reserves barks for special occasions.

Ginger has "play dates" with our best friend's sweet and frisky petite Bassett, Sadie, and her large white cat, Smudge. Actually, we noticed Ginger had became somewhat more lively after her first visit with Sadie & Smudge, so we regularly take our dogs to each other's homes for dinner and playtime. Ginger loves to ride in the car; we take her everywhere we can. Ginger knows to hop daintily right into her fashionable large soft pet handbag when we are "going for a ride". People in some of the shops in town are getting to know her. She's gone out of town with us once and was a perfect hotel visitor.

Well, that's our update for now! Ginger wanted to send her greetings and she thanks you for taking such special care of her until her adoptive parents came along. We are so happy and thankful to have her to love.
